Crusting cream cheese recipe
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup (one stick) unsalted butter @room temp.
1 8oz. bar cream cheese @room temp.
1 tbsp. white vanilla extract
2 lbs. sifted powder sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
Cream together shortening, butter and cream cheese until nice and smooth.
Add vanilla and mix well. Sift together powdered sugar and salt and add slowly to the creamed mix. Make sure all p. sugar is incorporated.
*For a stiffer icing use less powdered sugar but use same amount of salt. If too stiff, add milk to achieve the perfect consistency.
